Ducted Heating and Cooling
Adelaide Geoexchange can provide you with a Geoexchange ducted heating and cooling solution for your home or building utilising Natures stored RENEWABLE thermal energy, giving you energy efficient comfort that isn’t effected by the outdoor conditions.
What is a Geoexchange Ducted Heating and cooling Solution?
A Geoexchange ducted heating and cooling solution provides comfort to your home or building much like a conventional ducted air conditioning system, with the difference being the utilisation of a Geoexchange water to air or water to water heat pump.
What are the components of a geoexchange Ducted Heating and cooling Solution?
As mentioned above a Geoexchange ducted heating and cooling solution is very much like a traditional air conditioning system with the addition of the Geoexchange side of the system. Below we have split the components into two categories, one being the components that are the same as a conventional system and then the components that are different.
Ducting: The delivery of heated and cooled air is the same as a conventional system where a series of ducts are run in your ceilings and connected to outlets throughout the rooms to be conditioned.
Fan Coil: If we are using a water to water heat pump (heated and chilled water) we utilise a fan coil unit that consists of a fan and a coil. The heated and chilled water is circulated through the coil whilst the air is passing though it to either heat the air or remove the heat (when cooling). Traditional ducted system have a fan coil unit the normally utilises refrigerant in the coil as opposed to water.
Geoexchange Heat Pump: We can either utilise a water to water heat pump with a fan coil or utilise a water to air packaged Geoexchange heat pump. This type of heat pump contains all the components on the mechanical side of the system plus the fan and coil. The water to air heat pump only requires the connection of the supply and return air ducting, connection to the ground loop, power supply and controls and it is ready to go.
Geoexchange Loop: The loop is where the connection to Nature’s stored renewable energy takes place. A series of pipes containing water are either buried or installed in a body of water to either extract heat or reject heat.
